Miniature horses helped raise some funds for the Lubbock honor flight Saturday. It was a great venue for kids, with rides available at Market Street.
The Honor Flight sends World War ll veterans to the Washington D.C. war memorials.
Charlie Scarborough said the event gives the vets something to look forward to.
"We want to make it amazing. We want it to be a trip of a lifetime for our veterans. They deserve it," Scarborough said.
Memorabilia, like flags and coins, was given out. There was a raffle as well. Scarborough said it takes $2,000 to take the 3 day, 2 night trip. To help send veterans on trips, you can donate southplainshonorflight.com
