Debate continues around the soon-to-be appointed homelessness committee.
Last week amendments affecting the time line and structure of the group were offered by Lubbock Councilwoman Karen Gibson. Those amendments passed by a six to one vote.
Councilman Todd Klein, the only one to vote against it, says his original resolution that passed creating the group, and the recent changes to it, are being distorted. He has posted a seven point rebuttal on his campaign website, in an attempt to "correct the record", as he says, before the committee's members are appointed next month.
Klein told FOX 34, "My intention is to clarify what the facts are about the committee and to stop misinformation and the subsequent confusion it has created. In a free society, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but not to their own facts."
