Almost $9.7 million in road projects for our area has been approved by the Texas Transportation Commission.

In Hockley County, the green light has been given to improve roadway quality and safety for a stretch of FM 1585, from FM 303 to Highway 385.

In Crosby County, the commission approved a project to resurface part of FM 378.

In Parmer County, a contract was awarded to rehabilitate a portion of FM 1172, from FM 2387 to state Highway 86.

No definite construction schedules have been set for the projects, but work on all three are anticipated to begin in early 2014.
