Early voting underway in Hockley County to decide who will be the Republican candidate for sheriff on the November ballot.
A district judge, last week, declared the July 31st runoff election between Paul Scarborough and R.C. Cheek void. Cheek had filed a challenge in court claiming irregularities in that election and the recount that followed.
The new runoff election date is Tuesday, September 18th. Early voting runs through this coming Friday.
