The Lubbock Sheriff's Office conducted a series of raids at local establishments with eight-liner machines. They began executing search warrants for seven locations Sunday night into Monday morning.
Possessing eight-liner slot machines isn't illegal in Texas but giving away cash or prizes for playing them is.
The raids come after a lengthy undercover investigation brought on by complaints from patrons about pay-outs.
Lt. Brian Taylor outlines what deputies are looking for in this raid.
"At this time, all proceeds and equipment, surveillance equipment, anything that has any relation to the illicit gambling will be seized including machines, computers, stuff like that - especially the cash proceeds," he said.
Search warrants were executed at the following locations:
2121- 4th st.
5015 University
5029 I-27
2910 Slide Rd.
1114 FM 1585
1411 FM 1585
1555 W Division, Slaton, Tx.
So far there are no warrants for arrests.
