It is time to 'Fill the Boot' in the fight against neuromuscular diseases.
Lubbock Fire Fighters, the Lubbock Fire Department and the Muscular Dystrophy Association are gearing up for this year's campaign. Fire fighters will begin taking donations Thursday through Saturday at various intersections from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A media kick-off event is set for 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Fire Station #16, located at 4030 114th Street.
This year's fundraising goal is $100,000. Firefighters across the country are the top contributors to MDA having raised more than $475 million since becoming a supporter in 1954.
