Lubbock firefighters and others in uniforms took turns pulling a fire truck for the Special Olympics of the South Plains Saturday. Members pulled a near 3,000 pound fire truck.

There were two categories: Most money donated and the Fastest Pull.

The fundraiser helps the South Plains athletes with equipment and training.

"They're actually supporting the Lubbock area, which is 20 counties, and over 1,000 athletes and over 70 coaches so, it's going toward a good cause," said April Benavides, Area 17 Director.
