These were not items on the Electric Utility Board's agenda, but atmosphere and body language are what most observers were interested in today.
Several City Council members attended the LP&L board meeting after Mayor Glen Robertson's critical comments a few weeks ago about what he terms as a long-standing "disconnect" between the council and the board.
The mayor said his private discussion last week with Board President Mike Davis was "productive."
Davis said there is a commitment to addressing issues and concerns.
“We had a wide range discussion about LP&L,” Davis said. “We both came to a mutual understanding and a decision to work closely together and communicate, and not let some things cloud the facts. Very good meeting, we both left happy and I think you saw by today's meeting, everybody's on the same page.”
The Utility Board discussed the mayor's recommendation to hire an electric rate modeling consultant.
Members could consider proposals for that service at their meeting next month.
