The Lubbock City Council will discuss whether a new truck stop should be constructed near the airport during Thursday night's meeting.

Hugo Reed and Associates is asking for zoning, and have submitted an application to build a Love's truck stop on the western side of I-27 at Regis. In late February, a different group presented the airport board their plans to build a new hotel in the area.

Developers said these new businesses will help Lubbock's economic growth.
