Lubbock police are working off what little information they have so far to catch the suspect responsible for Wednesday night's child abduction.
Officers responded to the 1900 block of 44th Street around 5 p.m. after a driver convinced a seven-year-old girl to get into his vehicle. LPD reported at first the child refused, but the suspect followed her as she continued to walk along the sidewalk. After he coaxed her into his vehicle, he drove off with her.
Sergeant Jason Lewis said the child was able to push away from the suspect and get out safely.
LPD hopes to release more information on the suspect and vehicle description soon.
