A Texas Tech student faces a new charge in connection with a fatal crash in July. A Lubbock County grand jury indicted 23-year-old Benito Capellan on a charge of intoxicated manslaughter.
According to LPD investigators, Capellan, driving a pickup truck, struck 32-year-old Britta Schneider from behind while she rode her bicycle in the 3600 block of 4th street. She later died.
Last month grand jurors indicted Capellan on a charge of failure to stop and render aid.
