Two killed, two injured in one vehicle wreck in Nolan County

A wreck in Nolan County killed two people and injured two others when the vehicle they were in suffered a blowout. The crash happened on FM 608 near Sweetwater. According to the DPS, the right rear tire blew out and the driver lost control.

Also according to DPS:

  • The driver, Jose Carmelio-Martinez, from Roscoe, had no injuries.

  • Passenger Jose Herrera, 21, was pronounced dead.

  • Another passenger, Fidel Hernandez Acosta, 39, also of Roscoe, also died in the wreck.

  • A third passenger, Victor Manuel Lopez, 29, was taken to the Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo. He sustained internal injuries

  • A fourth passenger, 51 year-old Ismael Perez was not injured.

DPS reports that Herrera and Acosta were not wearing seat belts.
