Trinity church in Lubbock hosted a family friendly event Sunday in hopes to reach out to the community and spread the word about Christ. Games, refreshments and bounce houses were set up. The event also hosted an Easter hunt with 30 thousand eggs and a live concert.
Pastor Barry Moore said this was more than just having fun; it was about connecting with vital departments of the city.
"We have first responders here: the fire department, the Sheriff's office, the police department, EMS- we want to give our community the opportunity to connect with them one on one to see that they're regular folks just like the rest of us," said Moore, "and that's been a good thing for us to do. We really appreciate the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, the people of Lubbock to be an active participant in this even with us."
Moore said the event had a tremendous turnout. The church plans on hosting a separate Good Friday event.
