There could be a new Precinct 4 constable in Lubbock County next week.

Commissioners interviewed three applicants for the appointment Tuesday.

Kenneth Harris and Brenda Willis are Lubbock County deputies serving as courthouse security officers and Heath Rudder is a former Shallowater police officer.

The previous constable, Carol Thomas, retired from the job on Sunday, ending 42 years in law enforcement.

Commissioners will consider appointing a successor on July 8.
