RaiderPark isn't just a place to house your car anymore. It's home to The Roof, a unique sports and entertainment bar. Owner, Clayton Isom, shares his vision for the venue.
"It would change us from just being a place to park to a place to eat, drink, and be a part of the game day atmosphere and part of the community here in Lubbock," Isom said.
Isom related The Roof experience to being in the actual stadium.
"The Roof is on the 11th story over here, so we're sitting as though you were sitting on the roof of the west side of the stadium," Isom said.
Lauren Carson, The Roof General Manager, said the view is what sets the establishment apart from any other venue in Lubbock.
"I think the view is probably the number one difference between us and anywhere in Lubbock," Carson said. "You can not only see almost 360, but down into the stadium you can see both end zones, especially from this corner you can see the entire field."
Carson says she is excited about catering to Texas Tech fans and providing a unique experience for all.
"I think being high in the air brings a different energy that you don't have if you're enclosed," Carson said. "It's going to be something Lubbock has never seen before. It's going to be the go-to place."
People at the preview event before the first Texas Tech football game agreed that The Roof has an exceptional vibe.
"It's a great atmosphere," one man commented. "I think as the season goes along it'll get even better as more people know what's going on up here, it'll be a good deal for Lubbock.
The Roof will be the new hot spot for Tech football fans.
"From this point forward, and at every game for the foreseeable future,this will be part of the pre-game," Isom said.
The Roof is planning to be in full operation by the end of the month.
