The Dawson County Sheriff's office has arrested 32-year-old Miguel Angel Lugo in the missing person case of 31-year-old Patricia Rodriguez of Lamesa.

According to a statement from the Dawson County Sheriff's Office, Lugo has been charged with first-degree murder.

Sheriff Kent Parchman said the victim was reported missing after bones were found in western Dawson County on June 29.

The remains were transported to Lubbock for an autopsy.

It is believed they are the remains of Rodriguez, however an autopsy and lab results are still pending for a positive identification.

Lugo was arrested on Monday, after a tip came in that he killed Rodriguez.

According to the Sheriff's office, Lugo confessed to the killing and was later charged with murder.

As of Tuesday morning, Lugo remained in the Dawson County Jail.

His bond was set at $1 million.
