The Hunger Heroes luncheon hosted by the South Plains Food Bank and Lubbock Mayor Glen Robertson recognized community members who make a difference in the lives of the hungry.

Joy Engram, Curves Business owner, hosts a food drive for the food bank and said it's a way to give back.

"Just being a part of the community you need to help the community, everyone needs to do their part, and what they can do," Engram said. "We have people that we see every day at Curves and this way we can encourage them and they are more than willing to donate."

Mayor Roberston handed out nine awards honoring organizations and individuals, along with one top award going to De Stotts and Shirley Campbell.
