It seems the troubles for LP&L continue to pile up. Most recently, fraud attempts against customers has been added to the list.

LP&L sent out an automated call to customers who were under-billed in June in order to help them set up a payment plan.
Now scammers are calling customers and pretending to be LP&L employees asking for those payments over the phone.
LP&L said anyone getting a live phone call requesting a direct payment could be a victim of this scam.
In this case, do not pay. Get as much information about the caller as possible, including the phone number and immediately call LP&L at (806)-775-2509 or call local law enforcement.

The private sector can't even compare to the level of scams committed by the monopolistic LP&L. Power corrupts. Lubbock Power and Light corrupts absolutely.
