Testimony is expected to begin Wednesday in a Lubbock capital murder trial.
Reynaldo Ray is charged with killing 93-year-old Minnie Elkins in June of 1989. According to court documents, a hair from the crime scene tested last year matches Rey's DNA profile in a California database. He has been in jail since May of last year, when he was arrested and extradited from California.
Prosecutors are seeking a life sentence.
