Area high school students interested in pursing a military career attended an academy forum hosted by Lubbock Congressman Randy Neugebauer.

Officers from the four U.S Service Academies including Military at West Point, Naval, Air Force, and Merchant Marine at the forum to speak with students about the admissions processes.

"This isn't just about picking a college, this is about really embarking on a career," said Neugebauer. "We use our military academies to train the future leaders of our country, but some of them you know end up being leaders in government, in military and in the corporate world."

High schoolers are nominated their senior year, but are encouraged to start talking to officers early in order to take classes that will prepare them for the academies curriculum.
