Pilot and passenger plead guilty for drug charges

A pilot and his passenger, who belly landed a private plane transporting pot after taking off from the Yoakum County airport in late April pleaded guilty to felony drug possession Friday.  

Pilot Gregory Thomas, 50, and Dorothea Cangelosi, 66, were each found guilty of one count of possession with intent to distribute 50 kilograms or more of marijuana and aiding and abetting.  

THe max penalty is 20 years in federal prison and a $1 million fine.  

They are free on bond while awaiting sentencing.
