Lubbock Congressman Randy Neugebauer applauded the House of Representatives for passing the National Windstorm Impact Reduction Act Reauthorization of 2014. It is a bill designed to promote research into reducing damage caused by high winds and other natural disasters.

In a statement, he said, "We have found that one dollar in investments in resilience against windstorms can result in up to four dollars in savings in disaster response, so, not only are we investing in making Americans safer, we're also saving our tax dollars in the long run."
