Texas Tech has announced a NASA astronaut has been accepted to its doctoral program in education.

Joseph Acaba will join Tech's new blended delivery Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction with specialization in science education starting this fall.

Right now Acaba is busy; he just blasted off into space aboard a Russian Soyuz craft with cosmonauts Gennady Padalka and Sergei Revin. That capsule is scheduled to dock with the International Space Station Thursday. The crew will join several astronauts currently at the orbiting laboratory.
