212. That's the number of Texas children who lost their lives to child abuse and neglect in 2012. One local event looks to pay homage to those victims.

The family guidance and outreach center invites hundreds of motorcycles and show cars to partake in the annual memory ride and candlelight vigil set for Sunday.

The flashy parade is meant to bring attention to the growing problem in our community. Stephanie Brady is the Memory Ride coordinator.

"Four children are abused every day in Lubbock," she said. "We're one of the highest rated counties in the state of Texas for child abuse cases. We want to bring everybody's attention to this. We need to put a stop to it."

The entire community is invited to this free event that starts at McKenzie Park at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 7.
