The race for District 3 LISD Trustee gained a second candidate. Retired firefighter Eddie Kirkpatrick said his grassroots campaign is based on a passion for public service and a belief in parental involvement.“I have a passion for it,” Kirkpatrick said. “It started back when my kids started school. I saw how, when parents get involved in the process, how much better kids do and that's part of my reasoning for running. I would like to see more parent participation in the process.”
So far the LISD District 3 race has drawn one other candidate, Mark Blankenship, who was recently appointed interim trustee for that district.
