City Council is diving into pool politics. Lubbock City Councilman Todd Klein said he is open to options for keeping all city pools open when tighter water restrictions go into effect.

Two of the four municipal pools are supplied by well-water, and therefore could remain open under the regulations.

“If it's about getting water in there, we can achieve that,” Klein said. “It's a minor or small amount that we need to add to the budget for those pools. We are roughly talking about $9,000, that's achievable."

Councilman Floyd Price said he thinks it should be an all or nothing decision to be fair to all residents.

Klein said potential solutions include purchasing additional chemicals, drilling new water wells, and even trucking in water.
