Local war hero honored with new home

The West Texas Home Builders Association along with the Texas Tech Athletics Department are honoring a local war hero by building his family a new home. Specialist Louis Flores and his family atended a dedication ceremony at the site of their new home today.

Specialist Flores, a Plainview native, was deployed to northern Iraq where he served as a medic.

State representatives John Frullo, Jim Landtroop and Charles Perry attended the ceremony and presented a resolution honoring the Flores family. Congressman Randy Neugebauer presented the Flores family with a flag flown over the capitol on September 11th.

Retired Surgeon General of the U.S. Army, Doctor Bernard Mittemyer, was the keynote speaker. The home will be on display as part of this years Parade of Homes in June.
