Arrests made in Monday stabbing

Lubbock police released new details on a stabbing and assault that happened Monday. Police arrested 20-year-old Stoney Mungia and 23-year-old Leanna Maldonado on charges of burglary and engaging in organized crime.

Police report Mungia, Maldonado, and another person armed with bats tried to enter the home at 202 52nd Street and assault the residents over a previous incident. The altercation led outside where one of the alleged intruders was stabbed in the back that person's name has not been released. 

The intruders fled the scene. The two suspects were later taken into custody at 3400 Avenue Q.
