Lubbock will receive almost $5.6 million in sales tax revenue for the month of July.
That number is 4.92 percent more than what the city received last July.
Other cities in our region also saw an increase in sales tax revenues. Amarillo will get over $7 million, up 13.7 percent. Midland will see almost $5.5 million, a 10.65% increase.
The state saw a 7.13 percent increase in sales tax revenue, earning $2.2 billion this July.
Texas Comptroller Susan Combs said the sales tax revenue in Texas has gone up for 40 consecutive months.
