She is no stranger to the inner workings of convention politics. Lubbock Delegate Ruby Tanner is attending her second DNC.
She said she was a little worried about the momentum going in.
"To my amazement when I got to Charlotte to the lodge we are staying, I was surprised, it shocked me. The energy wow, I couldn't believe it they were just on fire," Tanner said. "Even when I walked into the area here and they all gathered themselves they are just right on target here they are just ready to go. "
Tanner said the hype for the convention four years ago was centered around "Change we can believe in".
She is confident the president will be able to reinvograte the electorate once again.
