When it's time to un-deck the halls, and dispose of a fresh-cut Christmas tree, the city of Lubbock has two drop-off locations.
Those trees are accepted at the recycling centers at 1631 84th St. and 208 Municipal Drive. Roll-off containers for cut trees are in place outside the gates of those sites through Jan. 14. From Jan. 15 through the end of next month, those centers will only accept cut trees from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Tree stands, any metal or plastic, and all decorations must be removed before you dispose of it.
