A suspicious package caused a stir Monday morning at Lubbock National Bank on 50th Street. An employee noticed the package in front of the building and called police.

Executive Vice President James Arnold said that the package turned out to be nothing. Nevertheless, he is grateful for LPD's quick response.

"Police came out, at that point, it became a police investigation," Arnold said. "They were suspicious of the package as well. So, they called in the bomb squad, and the bomb squad came out pretty quickly. They spent about thirty minutes and determined that the package was not a bomb or explosive material. They cleared the area, and we were back in business and open at 9:30."

Police did not disclose the contents of the package.

KCBD indicated that the bag contained clothing items. However, considering the cleanliness (or lack thereof) of those who abandon their clothes, the bag could be considered a biological hazard.
