A family in Southwest Lubbock is homeless after their home went up in flames. It happened at 6906 91st Street. Multiple fire crews battled the fire for at least a couple of hours Saturday evening. Crews told FOX 34 no one was home at the time.
The family of five is receiving assistance from the local chapter of the American Red Cross.
Bill Curnow with Lubbock's Red Cross said, "We are beginning our assessment on other areas, such as food and clothes, and bedding." "It just looks like we will be providing some type of assistance."
Fire investigators are trying to determine the cause. Curnow said the family did have somewhere to stay Saturday night.
