Lubbock Mayor Glen Robertson will introduce a resolution Thursday for moving the existing morning council meetings to evenings.
"My resolution is taking every meeting to night meetings,” Robertson said. “It would be the second and fourth Thursday of every month in the evening for us to have an executive session at three. A couple of reasons for it, number one, there is more citizen input. It is easier and more accessible for people to come down instead of in early morning when they have to work."The decision will be made at Thursday’s council meeting that begins at 7:30 a.m.
Council will also be taking public comment on a proposal for a zoning change for a Courtyard Marriott to be built near the Marsha Sharp Freeway and University Avenue.
