A fire at the southeastern edge of Lubbock destroyed a home early Thursday. The blaze was reported around 4 a.m. in the 300 block of East 82nd Street.
A mobile home in the area is a complete loss, leaving three people without a place to stay. The Red Cross is assisting those residents.
The blaze also spread to an adjacent carport. Investigators say the cause of the fire is unclear at this time.
