His seat is not on the November 2nd ballot, but Lubbock State Senator Robert Duncan says he is supporting something that is.
Interviewed on Foxtalk 950's Foxtalk in the Morning, Senator Duncan unequivacable in his endorsement of the Lubbock ISD bond package.
"You have to have a good education infrastructure in order to attract the types of high paying jobs and businesses that we want in this community. We're behind. These schools, and my kids went to Murfee, these schools have not had a major renovation since I can remember and that has been 20 years. You cannot go in an retrofit some of these schools. It's more expensive to do that. If we don't do this today, it will cost us more. If we wait 2 years, 3 years, 4 years it's just going to cost the taxpayers more because it's going to have to be done," Duncan said.
Senator Duncan also weighing in on the multi-billion dollar state budget shortfall. He says raiding the rainy day fund won't fix the widening long term spending and revenue gap.
That issue and others likely topics in tomorrow's Foxtalk in the Morning interview with the incumbent in the hotly contested race for state representative in district 85. Democrat Joe Heflin is the guest at 7 a.m.
Early voting for the November 2nd election begins Monday.
