By a city council vote of 5 to 1, possible changes to Lubbock's water utility rates are put on hold.

Council members dipping into a comprehensive list of staff recommendations, decide they need more time to study the potential impact of changes.  Only Mayor Tom Martin  opposed the continuance.

Among the long list of proposals, higher reconnection fees and customer deposits.  The majority of council members suggest there should be several changes made to the pending plan before they take a first reading vote at the June 10th meeting.
