Yoakum County crash leaves two dead; Lubbock child injured when hit by car

Child hit by car in southwest Lubbock

A child is hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle Thursday evening. LPD officers report the nine-year-old boy ran out in front of an oncoming car in the 46-hundred block of 52nd street. The child's injuries are said to be serious, though not life-threatening.

Yoakum County crash kills two

Two people are dead and two others hospitalized, the victims of a three vehicle collision in Yoakum county. It happened on Highway 82 east of Plains near County Road 435.

DPS reports a westbound pickup crossed into oncoming traffic striking an SUV. Then another SUV collided with those vehicles. 

DPS Corp. John Gonzalez reports the pickup driver and the driver of the first SUV died at the scene.
Their names have not been released. The driver of the second SUV and a 12-year-old passenger in the pickup are hospitalized. Their names and condition.s are also not available.
