Tech Regents approved a contract extension and pay raise for Dr. Tedd Mitchell, President of Texas Tech's Health Sciences Center.
The new contract extends his tenure for another three years.
Tech Chancellor Kent Hance said, "Most important thing that we need at the Health Sciences Center is stability. We don't need changing of our top people. When they're doing well, it's just good for the entire university for them to stay in the same position."
Mitchell is the eighth president of Tech's Health Sciences Center. He oversees numerous campuses including Lubbock, El Paso, Dallas and Amarillo.
