A three-year-old toddler died in the hospital after he was struck by a pickup in a south Lubbock parking lot near 89th Street and University Avenue.
Carlos Gonzales entered the gate and was running across the parking lot when he was hit by the pickup as it was backing out. The boy was pinned underneath the truck until emergency crews freed him.
Paramedics transported him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No charges have been filed in this incident.
