Lubbock Police are looking for the person who fired shots downtown early Wednesday.

Investigators say they were responding to a call of loud music at the Cactus Courtyard when someone fired two shots toward the area in the 1800 block of Buddy Holly Avenue. The suspect got away.

One of the bullets hit some audio equipment; that debris hit one person, who suffered a minor injury.

The suspect is a black man between 5'8" and 5'9", about 180 lbs.

Isn't this the place that council member Phyllis Jones held a liquor license, while at the same time using her power to have her competition (South Beach?) on the other side of the alley demolished? Although I object to violence, if this is the same place, such curse can't be lifted until it is also demolished, with no compensation to those who collaborated with any corrupt official.
