Lubbock Police are investigating circumstances surrounding two dead bodies over the weekend.
Police say a man was assaulted at the Gates Apartments, in the 5000 block of Avenue W just before 3 Saturday morning. Eddie Moreno, 34, was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
A suspect has been identified. No arrests have been made.
In a separate incident, a jogger discovered a dead body in the water at Hodges Park, 2700 Cesar Chavez Dr. The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Jeremy Wayne Allen.
The cause of death is under investigation.
