Councilman Todd Klein had two resolutions on the agenda for Thursday's meeting. One of his resolutions failed for lack of a second. The other resolution he decided to take no action on.

The District Three City Councilman called for reform in the way we are charged for drinking water. Klein said the current rate model lacks transparency, equity and structural integrity.
However, Thursday night the resolution failed for lack of a second. Councilman Klein said he may bring this item up again at a future date.

Klein also decided to take no action on suggesting to the Electric Utility Board to call for a citizens task force. It would help resolve some of the LP&L issues.

"I'm looking at posting something for the 27th and speaking directly to the board, but ultimately I think call it a task force or call it something larger than that, but I think the board from what I do hear publicly is very receptive to talking to the public," he said.

Klein said the key is to continue to have public discussions and sustainable rates.
