Some warm-hearted contractors are working to help Lubbock residents who can't afford heater repairs before winter weather sets in.
Members of the South Plains Chapter of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America are gearing up for an annual project called "Heat the Town."
On Saturday, Oct. 26th, technicians will make free safety inspections and service calls to low-income Lubbock homeowners, ages 65 and older, who need a safe way to keep warm. The home cannot be a mobile home.
If you qualify, contact the South Plains Association of Governments at 806-762-8721 to apply.
Only the first 60 applicants who meet the requirements will be accepted.
