Car almost hits police officer

LPD police are looking for the driver who almost ran into an officer on a motorcycle who was trying to stop the vehicle for speeding.

An arrest warrant has been issued for 19-year-old Victoria Duong, suspected of aggravated assault on a peace officer. Police report the officer followed the car to the 6600 block of Brentwood shortly before 8 a.m.

The driver reportedly made a U-turn on the dead-end street and accelerated directly towards the officer. The officer made an emergency turn and avoided being struck by inches. The officer reports the car turned eastbound onto the 5400 block of South Loop 289 where it nearly collided with another vehicle.
