A man in Lea County is now behind bars after a the drug task force discovered a hefty amount of various controlled substances.
Clinton Skippins, 56, of Hobbs, was arrested Friday after being in possession of crack cocaine and methamphetamine.
Skippings was under surveillance by law enforcement after receiving an anonymous tip. Officers established a regional area Skippings was seen frequenting, and stopped him in his vehicle.
A search warrant revealed Skippings had approximately 12 ounces of crack cocaine, 9 grams of meth and around $4,200 dollars cash.
An additional search was done at Skipping's residence, and a half pound of marijauna, 45 grams of cocaine, 124 grams of meth and a handgun were seized.
$1,600 dollars cash was also seized. Skippings was charged with four counts of trafficking a controlled substance, one count of distribution and one count of felony in possession of a firearm.
He was booked in the Lea County jail on a no-bond hold.
