Lubbock State Representative John Frullo is deeply involved in the legislative process as the second special session of the state legislature gets under way.
Frullo is a co-author of Senate Bill 5, the new abortion legislation that would make for some of the most restrictive abortion laws in the nation.
Frullo is also a member of the House State Affairs Committee, which heard testimony on the embattled legislation Tuesday evening.
"Both last session and this session," Frullo said, "we've heard several bills at different times. They tend to change a little bit, of course, the basic information is still the same. I think this is a very passionate issue and we will see that passion again."
During the first special session, the House passed Senate Bill 5 by a 97-33 vote.
Frullo said after all the testimony is heard Tuesday night, the committee may take a vote to move the abortion legislation on to the House floor for debate.
