Beloved Texas Tech professor passes away

One of Texas Tech's longest serving and most admired professors passes away.

Doctor Aldo Finco taught four foreign languages at the university from 1968, until his retirement in 2005.

Finco was named as a Professor Emeritus of the university, and has an endowed chair named in his honor.

That gift was given by his daughter Carla and her husband Brad Moran, who owns Ramar Communications, our parent company.

Doctor Finco is a native of Northern Italy, and one of his missions in life was to spread italian good will in West Texas.

He is survived by his wife Malaka, his children, John and Marla Finco of Garland, Carla and Brad Moran of Lubbock, and three granddaughters.
