While the police work in the case of the murder of Dr. Joseph Sonnier, LPD Sergeant Jonathan Stewart credits a call to Crimeline with providing a major break in the investigation.
"In this case it played a very large role," Stewart said. "The caller was actually able to point us in the direction of a suspect and get that initial information to us that got the ball rolling
. We always offer a reward for Crimeline tips and in the case of murders, that tip is generally worth a thousand dollars."
Sergeant Stewart said investigators follow up on all information received through Crimeline.
Those that wish to report tips can remain anonymous. The Crimeline number is 741-1000.
