Lubbock's Crime Victim Coalition honored those who are on the front lines comforting those who are victimized. Multiple first responders, including LPD, the Lubbock DA's office, DPS, Lubbock Fire Department, Lubbock EMS and community volunteers were recognized.

The event was sponsored by community service organizations like Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Legal Aid Society, Women's Protective Services and others. Amanda Eldredge is a Victim Advocate for MADD.

"Victims are traumatized, it's a very stressful, chaotic situation." Said Eldredge. "And all these organizations have come together and they have different roles that they provide where they assist those victims from the time the incident happened, until the time the case has gone to trial."

Award recipients were nominated by partners of the coalition.
